UPDATE: This video is out of date — please watch my new Pretty Link Intro Video
I’ve had a ton of requests to put some tutorials up on the site — here’s the first one. I’m planning on releasing 1 of these every week for a while. This one will show you how to install Pretty Link, create your first links and post them to Twitter.

Next week I’ll go a little more in depth about the awesome options you can set for your links in Pretty Link. Seriously, Pretty Link has many options that will help you build your SEO efforts, mask your links and create buzz for your brand.

Feel free to leave a comment about this video, if you have any questions about pretty link in general or if there’s a Tutorial you’d like to see. Later.

    Nice screencast :-)

Idea: will be nice to have a widget in the Dashboard to create links easily with the default values (only one input where to add the link).

    Good luck!

    Hi Blair,
Thanks for your great wordpress plugin. I started to purchase a program and find that pretty link does the same thing.
I can’t wait for the next tutorial because I keep thinking that I’m not using the tool to it’s full potential.
I do have a question from the video. Who is supercleanse fro twitterj?
The photos don’t look near the same.
By the way, I’m following you or somebody under supercleanse on twitter.

    Thanks

I’ll be releasing my second video tutorial. Yeah — that supercleanse guy is me … lol … I have a mullet wig on in my Twitter avatar. I have 2 main avatars, me in a suit and me in a mullet — working on getting an avatar that is closer to the actual me (which is somewhere in the middle of those two)…

    Hello Blair,

I have been trying to shorten an affiliate link but continue to get a 404 page. Am I doing something wrong?
The requested URL /blog/justhost was not found on this server.

Go check out my FAQ — this is the #1 issue and is easy to fix. You basically need to enable pretty permalinks within wordpress itself.

    Hi Blair,

I am pretty much impressed with your prettylink. Like its name, pretty link is really awesome. In the beginning of my blogging stance, I have tried many things to cloak my affilitite links, such as php and htaccess. It was really a gruesome experience. I have even messed up my blog trying out different methods. Glad to say that I’m grateful to have stumble upon prettylink. I am so excited using prettylink to cloak my affiliate links. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to getting great stuffs from you. Thanks again.
