Love this plugin, excellent work. Glad to see you are giving it frequent updates.

I have one question/suggestion. Does the Exclude IP Address field in the Reporting Options accept wild cards? My IP changes frequently, and nobody in my subnet or even country is likely to visit my site, so being able to ad 123.123.*.* would be a great feature.

Thanks

Got a fatal error with latest update 1.3.36 (was working just fine with 1.3.35 a few minutes before updating)…

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘(‘, expecting ‘}’ in …/plugins/pretty-link/classes/models/PrliLink.php on line 15

Thanks, Doug

Hi blair,
With automatic updating within WP it is difficult to get info on “What’s new”, maybe you could link to this page on the info screen? (better would be a separate tab)

I’m a big fan of Pretty Link, but with all the updates lately it would be most appreciated if you could start to use the new Changelog format which has been introduced for the WordPress.org Plugin directory. Especially since you’ve already been tracking all the changes on the site’s changelog.

Thanks Blair!

Blair Williams August 20, 2009 at 8:51 pm

Yeah, I’ve been meaning to start using the new guidelines but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ll get it going with tomorrow’s release :) … Thanks!

Jean-Paul Horn August 21, 2009 at 4:32 pm

Blair, a big thank you for including the new changelog in Pretty Link 1.4.12 :D Just noticed this on the plugin screen and wanted to say thanks for including this now!

Kenneth August 11, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Thanks for the great plugin, i’m considering buying it…

one issue… i set a URL with PL: http://domain.com/word/ but then all the others I set http://domain.com/word/anotherword all redirected to the original http://domain.com/word/ and so the same page showed up. I fixed it, but it took ages to track down the issue. Shouldn’t these two links be DIFFERENT?

It was actually really simple to add the auto discovery code since I already have a pretty link tied to each post. :)

Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Blair, do I have to replace my current bookmarklet when updating to 1.4.19?

Reply

Blair Williams September 8, 2009 at 5:15 pm

Yes — you should delete your old bookmarklet and replace it with this new one.

Lawrence Rolograaf September 9, 2009 at 5:18 am

Thanks for honoring my request! it’s working great.
Also the position none is appreciated, I have integrated the buttons in my template.
Thanks again Blair!

Do you need a special tag for showing twitter comments or isn´t there shown anything if there are no twitter comments?

Reply

Blair Williams September 15, 2009 at 11:47 pm

Yeah, the twitter comments field isn’t shown unless there are some tweets about your post.

Doug October 23, 2009 at 9:52 am

Hello Blair, I’m having issues with cloaking. Is it something to do with my configuration, before I upgraded to latest version today, it was working fine.
for eg: http://www.davieslim.com/wpwebhost
cloaking it, it loads for a bit then mozilla shows broken link. redirect works.

Blair Williams October 29, 2009 at 11:22 am

This issue was fixed in the most recent update… Let me know if you’re still having issues.

Lawrence Rolograaf October 24, 2009 at 1:52 pm

added a shortcode & template tag for pro users to display their pretty links on pages & posts (the shortcode is http://blairwilliams.com/41e and the template tag is the_prettylink() ).

Please what is the shortcut once more?

Hi blair Firstly thanks for your plugin.

I’ve got a problem with the pixel link since a few versions.

When I created a pixel link, i got in the panel an tag. Since a few time, I only get a link : “http://myurl.com/xxx”.

On my site, if I copy-paste the old tag replacing the old src url by the new one, no hit is recorden in the panel (after visits of course).

Reply

Blair Williams November 4, 2009 at 9:47 pm

Yeah, you have to create the html link yourself now — this is because it was breaking my links from the Pretty Link admin. It’s easy to do though:

<img src=”http://myurl.com/xxx” style=”display: none;” height=”0px” width=”0px” />

Hope that helps.

Nigel November 3, 2009 at 5:32 am

I have the same problem as FranceThomas above.
