Hi Blair,
it looks like I am the first one to comment on this 😀
It sounds very interesting and you know already – if you remember my previous comments on PrettyLInk – that I love your plugins, but … I purchased the amazing Thesis theme for $87. Isn’t even $97 a bit too much for a single plugin?
Blair Williams says
Yeah — I’ve been working on Pro for several months. I’m glad you asked about the price … it’s a substantial amount of money — but well worth it not only for what it currently is but where it’s going. I’m extremely excited about the direction that Pretty Link is taking with Pretty Link Pro.
I’m also glad you brought up the comparison to Thesis — Thesis is AWESOME, as you probably know I’m a Thesis affiliate (that was my affiliate link back there :)) and have been a proponent of it for a long time because it’s simply the best theme you can buy.
You can kind of look at Pretty Link Pro as the Anti-Thesis — meaning that Thesis takes your on-site branding to new levels while Pretty Link Pro is now here to take your off-site branding & link strategy to new levels!
As far as the price comparison, you referenced the Single Site cost for Thesis — the multi-site version costs $164.00 (in my opinion this is well worth the money). Pretty Link Pro has no single site option because the code is released under the GPL — you can do whatever you want with it and I even allow you to continue getting lifetime updates from my servers on up to 5 websites for free after you purchase the code!
I hope this helps you … simply put, Pretty Link Pro rocks and is well worth the price.

I’ve been waiting for this for awhile now. Thanks for getting this done! The other tools I’ve used for this have not been ideal. I love Pretty Link and I’m sure I’m gonna love Pretty Link Pro.
NI-LIMITS says
Without a sidebar plugin allowing visitors to create their own pretty links or a more customisable pretty-bar, I find it hard to justify the purchase of the PRO version, other than your support, which cannot be tested until purchase has been made…
Will be keeping our RSS subscription to this site open and listening in for more news on these important features before making any purchases…
Nonetheless, good luck and thanks again for all of your hard work!
Blair Williams says
NI-LIMITS, there are actually a ton of powerful features that make the package worth the cost … but since Pretty Link Pro is rapidly becoming the de-facto way to brand yourself off-site, you can imagine that we’ll be working to enhance the pretty bar and give your users the ability to create short links on your website really soon.
As for customer support, you’re right — it’s always a gamble but with this product you have a few positive indicators that it will be really good:
First, I’m operating my entire business with my actual name (I really am Blair Williams) and I have a high amount of motivation to stand by my promises.
Second, you can download the free version of Pretty Link to see what level of quality you can expect from Pro.
Third, I’ve handled most of my customer support requests for Pretty Link here on the blog — you can go back and see how many people I’ve helped and how fast… If you follow some of my trackbacks, you’ll see that I’ve got a very good reputation of responsiveness.
Finally, you can read the testimonials for Pretty Link and Pretty Link Pro — these are all 100% real, from people that I have had real interaction with via email and my blog — there are more that will be showing up on these pages soon.
If you’ve got any questions, don’t hesitate to post another comment on my blog or send me a message via my contact form. And if you do purchase Pro, I hope you’ll contact me and let me know what you think.
Thanks! Blair

@Blair
Re your answer
1) And all the time I thought you were Supercleanse! (says Rolograaf)
2) Quality is above any doubt, should there be a bug it is solved before anyone notices! But is is so well thought out from the start.
3) See above on responsiveness, and not for security risks as mayor software sometimes seem to be acting in a problemsolving way…
4) Finally? there are hundreds of reasons!
For any commercial site Pretty Link Pro must be making money, as return on its investment. Also I believe usefull features keep coming at apparently no extra cost.
PLP rocks!

Wow!
I just had to tell you how much II love your new Pretty Link Pro version. In the short time I’ve been using it I am absolutely amazed with everything I can do with it.
It’s every bit worth the price and even more because it actually saves me hours of time and helps me to make money. The value is definitely there because this is a high quality tool.
Blair, Thanks for putting out this masterpiece!

Hi Blair,
I wish you also included a way for people to rate the link, if they are using the toolbar. And also show how many times it has been clicked.
Also, is there anyway to customize the pretty link toolbar visually with CSS and add your own logo?
Blair Williams says
The pretty bar has basic customization options that you can find in the Pretty Link -> Options. You can upload a square image which could be your logo. The rating idea is FANTASTIC! I hadn’t considered that before but it’s going on my list now. Thanks for the great idea!

I purchased the Pretty Link Pro too and am very glad I did. There are a lot of useful and timesaving features that make this a great product. I was also using the standard version for several months and i can tell you that Blair is very responsive to bugs/requests and posting updates very quickly. I doubt anyone would be disappointed with the Pro purchase…besides it comes with a 30 day 100% money back guarantee! ~ Dave

Hi Blair,
I’d just like to thank you for making such a great plugin! Even the free one rocks!
I was looking for a solution that to cloak and redirect links and it does everything I want.
One thing I’d like to know though, I do a lot of affiliate marketing and use pretty link to redirect to the offer page with a “pretty link” without the ugly url with all the tracking garbage etc.
One of my traffic sources provides a tracking pixel which you can put on the page to track conversions. If I’m redirecting to a publishers page, without contacting them, I can’t get the tracking pixel on to that page.
Would there be any way to make the pretty link bar customizable so you can place code within it which would then act as the tracking? Or even change the shape and size of it etc?
Technically I need the pixel on the order thank you page but just out of interest would it be possible to implement that idea into the pro version?
That would mean you’d be able to essentially customize the iframed page without having to contact the publisher and get them to stick the tracking pixel on the page, which at the moment I haven’t noticed a way to do it with your plugin.
I haven’t upgraded to the pro version yet but will be doing so soon.
So thanks again and I look forward to your reply.
Cheers
Robbie

Thanks Blair, Pretty Link Pro just saved me countless hours of adding links to each of the offsite links I had on my site, well worth the money if only for the time saved.

Hi Blair – any chance you’ll be offering a Thesis + Pretty Link Pro bundle, for single or multiple sites? The two of them would definitely go great together. 🙂
